Plenty of Tring runners at this, the first event in our off road championships. This was the 29th Box Hill Fell Race, but the first time I'd ever been there. Despite a strong showing at the front of the field we were beaten into 2nd place by Springfield Striders and so lost the crown we had won last year. There seemed to be twice as many Striders as there were from Tring, which seemed a little unfair!!

Below, the Race has just started from beside the tree to the right and the field is already spreading out. Look closely and there are plenty of blue and white hoops close to the front . .

Here the course turns left and the runners start to climb Box Hill. Already the eventual winner is in the lead. Good to see so many Tring vests pushing hard towards the front . . click on the buttons to the left to find more photos . .
